While not new, this is a cool device, if you've never heard of it. TiVo is a Digital Video Recorder (DVR).

We happen to be TiVo veterans. Our first TiVo was bought the first day they were available locally.

This set-top box allows you to pause/rewind live video, save TV shows, and basically develop your own programming from all of the many channels there are on cable and satelite.

We have TiVos in the bedroom and the living room, with different content being recorded on each unit.

We can view all of our digital photos on either unit, served by our Mac Mini server (previously served from the Linux box). Also, all of our MP3s can be streamed to either TiVo unit.

The TiVos would be special to us either way, but the fact that they run Linux under the cover just makes it easier to love. ;-)

Thanks a lot for sharing this info with us. I've been thinking about implementing a website using Drupal events in singapore so I've been looking all over for bits of information. It's great to see that all my questions find their answers, one way or another.
